Is this sign really necessary?
This photograph was taken at North Branch Park in Somerset County, NJ. One has to wonder: Is a person who is stupid enough to fire off a rocket during a horse show also likely to suffer from illiteracy?
Don Staffin has been sharing his thoughts with anyone interested in hearing them since 2004, when the series "Postcards from the Garden of Estrogen" was launched. Inspired by Mark Twain, Isaac Asimov, George Will, and others who knew how to mix humor and commentary, the essays have explored many topics.
When not occupied by his day job, Don can also be found doing standup comedy, having performed in the New York Metropolitan Area, New Orleans,Germany, Denmark, England and The Philippines.
He is a choral director, vocal coach and a cappella arranger with Somerset Hills Harmony Chorus, and the Bridgewater-Raritan High School Acappella Program. He also sings with Parkside Harmony, an international award-winning chorus based in Hershey, PA.
